Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam (ID No : 07838) passed SSC Examination in 1984 from Badarganj High School in Rangpur, and HSC Examination in 1986 from Carmichel College, Rangpur. He completed his B.Sc (Honors) in Chemistry in 1992 and M.Sc  (Thesis) in Chemistry in 1994 from the University of Dhaka. He completed his PhD degree in 2007 on the surface river waters (Title: Transport of organic matter in river waters from Hokkaido Island to Ocean) by the Hokkaido University, Japan and Post doctorate degree in 2013 (Title: Transport of organic matter in underground waters in the karst area) on the underground river waters systems by the Southwest university, China. He has 12 scientific publications in USA, Europe, China, and Bangladeshi Journals. His research works are still going on particulate organic carbon, dissolved organic carbon, 14C, 13C, Arsenic, Cd, Cr, Fe, in water systems. He took part about 40 International scientific conferences abroad. He visited in Japan, China, Malaysia, and India for research purpose. He has some literary written in some magazines in Bangladesh. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam is a Cadre service holder of Bangladesh Civil Service (16th BCS).
